Longchang is an independent Chinese metaphysics practice centered on personal BaZi readings, alongside focused consultations on place and timing through Feng Shui and date selection. Each inquiry begins with a question that matters to you—a career transition, a shifting relationship, or a threshold in life where thoughtful perspective is needed.
Today, our work is informed by three core perspectives: Amassment, Choice, and Grit. Our readings draw on classical texts, historical commentaries, and disciplined ongoing study. We examine your birth chart in light of the circumstances you share, setting broad generalities aside to weigh specific conditions with care.
All of this preparation directly serves your own choice. Rather than dictating an outcome, a consultation clarifies your options and trade-offs through reasoned judgment, keeping decisions firmly in your hands. From clear understanding comes grit—the sustained patience and quiet resolve to carry an informed perspective into daily life.
You receive a thorough, carefully structured PDF report outlining key assessments, reasoning, underlying conditions, and practical next steps, followed by a dedicated window for written clarification. Longchang offers measured, responsible counsel: grounded in enduring tradition, addressed to the present, and shaped to help you move forward with confidence.
What happens when you write
Your message is read by the same person who will do the work — your question stays with one practitioner from proposal to report. If your question fits a service, you receive a written proposal: scope, fee, start date. If it does not fit, you are told so, and nothing is sold to you. Work begins only after the proposal is agreed and your materials are complete.
How a report is actually made
A useful report starts with a well-defined question. Birth details, a floor plan or a proposed event are checked for gaps before the interpretation begins. The report explains the method used, distinguishes the judgment from its conditions, and turns the findings into practical next steps. Where the information cannot support a confident conclusion, that limit belongs in the report too.
Why written
These traditions carry nuance — conditions, exceptions, trade-offs — and nuance survives better on paper than in a call. A written report lets you read once for the answer, again for the reasoning, and a third time after the first emotional reaction has passed. It also disciplines the person writing it: a judgment that must be explained on paper has to be made carefully in the first place.
What the work will not do
- It will not frighten you. No looming disasters, no deadlines invented to force a decision.
- It will not guarantee an outcome — wealth, health, a relationship, a career result. Anyone who promises these is selling certainty, not judgment.
- A consultation does not require you to buy objects. Recommendations begin with what is practical and reversible.
- It will not decide for you. A reading is one perspective, offered so your own judgment can work better.
Honest about uncertainty
If a birth time is approximate, if a building's orientation cannot be established from the materials, if two methods disagree — the report says so and works within what can honestly be known. Precision is never borrowed for appearance.
On tradition and technology
The methods here are old; the discipline around them is deliberate. Tools can assist with calculation, research and presentation. I remain responsible for the interpretation and the finished report. Before delivery, I review it against your agreed question.
The name
The Chinese name, 龙场论命 (Longchang Lunming), pairs the place name with “discussing life and destiny”. At Longchang, that conversation begins with BaZi.
Longchang — 龙场, "Dragon Field" — is a place in Guizhou, in southwestern China, where the Ming philosopher Wang Yangming was sent into exile in 1508; the understanding he reached in that hard posting became one of the best-known moments in Chinese thought. The name is a working reminder of careful reflection under difficulty: the questions worth bringing here are usually the difficult ones, and the point of a reading is not to decorate them but to see them clearly.
Who is behind it
Longchang is preparing to open. A practitioner introduction will be published here before bookings begin. For now, the journal explains the approach, and the report format guide shows how a written consultation is organised.
